During menopause women may experience pelvic floor problems like pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, and constipation. Physiotherapy can be an effective way to treat and manage these issues. A physiotherapist can work with you to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles through exercises like Kegels. They can also help you learn how to properly empty your bladder and bowels to prevent constipation and incontinence. Exercise such as Clinical Pilates and Yoga can also be beneficial for managing and preventing osteoporosis and fractures, as well as treating common issues like lower back pain and joint pain.
